HOLIDAY TIPS

With Holiday season in full affect, here are some of my stay stress-free tips. Getting organized is a no-brainier, but most people fail to plan. Keep a calendar, set a budget (stick to it). Not happening? Make a list, check it twice. Where did that list go?!? Great lost the list. So many people have less than Merry Christmas'. I'm a planner, does that mean I don't get stressed? Not at all. It just means I have a plan, and my plan has a back up plan.

So here are some tips and things to keep in mind:
Make a detailed list with who and what to buy. If you don't know what to purchase get a gift card. "Oh there in-personal", so is getting the wrong gift. Gift cards ensure that they get something they will enjoy, and cuts shopping time.  Start shopping asap. Last minute shopping is hectic.
Don't attend every party your invited too. Between work parties, family, and friends, it can get overwhelming. Remember it's a party, if your not having a good time, then your at a meeting that's not mandatory.
Stop comparing. Social Media  will have you thinking that the rest of the world has this Holiday thing in the bag. With gorgeous holiday cards, fresher baked cookies, and that list checked off twice.
Here are some of last years pics

Remember to have a Holly Jolly Christmas.

Pineapple

This little guy has just come home and I couldn't be happier. In case you didn't know, I love pineapples. There isent a grocery trip, where we don't pick one up. So how crazy is it, that one has never been on the blog named after it? So here's the first pineapple to hit the blog. No, I don't have much of a green thumb. It's more like I'm the place, where flowers come to die. So my husband has taken this one on. Let's see how big this guy gets.

Here's some weekend fun. We hit downtown Disney. The girls absolutely love the Lego store. We could have stayed for hours.

Weekend round up

Kicking off fall and our holiday festivities off. With Halloween just a few weeks away, my mind is racing with all the awesome, Pinterest inspo, for costumes. Having a hard time settling on costumes for the girls. We picked up pumpkins and a black cat. Finally, getting to some decor around the house, although I haven't set anything up yet which I'm hoping to do by weeks end. Planning lots of fall fun, from hay rides, to late night hot chocolate runs, and some spooky films. Our go to is, Tim Burtons Nightmare Before Christmas.

We picked up Milo, sorta by accident. We just got the girls a fish tank and were picking up supplies. But Milo just kept looking at me with sad eyes, and I'm not sure what happened next, but well, we have a cat. The girls are absolutely loving this little guy.

Also this girl just got to use her first Easy Bake Oven. Can you tell how excited she is?

Banner

Seems like baby's are in season. With many of my family and girlfriends having little ones, it gives me an opportunity to create some cute nursery pieces, that will also double as baby shower decor. Made this sweet little sailor themed banner, using card stock, and some wood cut outs, I picked up at the craft store.
These are super simple to make, and would add a fun touch to any occasion.

First I made a template using some card board I had. I cut it into a large triangle. An inch from the top two points, I went and cut at an angle (this will be used to fold over the back end). Once all the pieces where cut, I lined up the pattern I wanted, and used some tacky glue (a must in all crafting bags). I placed twine in between the flaps and glued. Once that was dry I added some pre-painted wood pieces, to give it a little pop.
( She Insisted on being part of the shot, girl loves the camera lol.)

This is a fun and easy project, even for a first time DIY. Make sure to follow us on the blog an Instagram. Also if you haven't already, check out our giveaway which some lovely ladies will win next month from the Target beauty box.

TARGET GIVEAWAY

Targets box this time around was some curly hair goodness. With two little ones with wild child hair, it couldn't be better. The full size item was, Dove Quench Absolute Crime Serum. It helps with dryness, and to tame that frizz. Next we have Shea Moisture, which is a favorite in our home. I love there light scent, and how soft it leaves curls. Jane Carter Solution Revitalizing Leave in Conditioner, has to be my favorite product for the girls hair so far. I sprayed it, and left it for a few minutes, and untangling hair, was tear free. It's always a battle getting them to hold still while I tug at their little curls. This made it super painless.  Next is the Curl Crime Brûlée Whipped Curl Creme. With that name, you know it smelled like a yummy decadent dessert.  The last two items, are actually staples in our home. Colgate Optic White Express White Toothpaste and Aquaphor. We started using Aquaphor years ago after a tattoo artist recommended it for the healing process, and we always keep it handy for those rough areas, like knees and elbows, when u need a little something extra. Also I found these products all had crazy long names, when I was writing them out. Like how are you suppose to remember that? This box is already sold out unfortunately, but you can still get these products just click on link.

Ok ladies here's the fun part GIVEAWAY!!! That's right, our first ever giveaway. Here are the rules.. Make sure to be following us on Instagram, and tag two friends. Your friend has to also be following to qualify. Repost picture an tag @thisgoldenpineapple. You and your friends will get next months Target box. Winner will be announced September 25th.  All participants must live in the U.S.  Good luck ladies.

Lilly turns two

So, it's that time again, when mom has to shed a little tear cause my girl isn't a baby anymore. With my littlest turning two, and becoming a toddler, I no longer have babies. It's gone much to fast, and thinking back to last year, she has changed so much. She is bubbly, hyper, photogenic snuggler. There is never a dull moment with her. Her favorite line is "I did it" and "OMG OMG OMG." And yes, she says it in threes. So today we eat cake. Yum.

Here some great ideas for your littles turning two. We currently have a tent, but well, it's falling apart due to the girls liking to rough house in it, so it has taken a beating. This ones super cute with lots of little details. The book with no pictures, is such a fun and unique twist on a children's book. An you can never have too many books.  Hunters because it rains every single day and of course the girls love to run through the puddles. Her first baby which hubby has already started making mini furniture for. And last but not least, this alphabet puzzle with big chunky letters for little hands, is sure to be a favorite. So mommy will have a busy weekend, toy shopping.

I can't believe she was this little. Some pictures of our Lilly.

Journey to healthy

RI don't know when it happened, when it just clicked. Maybe in between coffee and the rubber band trick. What's the rubber band trick? When your pants are a little too snugged, so u use a hair tie, through the loop to give you that extra space. Heart break, is an under statement, when  you slide on your old over-sized pants, and well there way too small. So that day, I made a health run, and decided enough was enough. I've been feeling so sluggish, and tired all the time. These are my must haves for starting a fitness journey.

Must Haves:

Mason jars-Storing smothies and over night oats in these.
Water bottle-This should be a staple for every one. I will try to drink 8-10 cups a day.
Nutribullet- Im a huge fan of smoothies. Makes for quick an healthy snacks.
Journal- Track food and fitness.

Making a plan is super important to your success. Meal prepping for the week, and loading your fridge with yummy health foods, will keep the hunger monster at bay. Also, setting meal times, and work outs in your schedule. I find that, it helps to have my phone alert me so I don't miss a meal. I have an accountability buddy for those days I wanna skip a work out. They're great for motivation, and we like to make it into a mini challenge.
