Party Prep and home update

Birthdays are fast approaching, and we've planned a little party for our two girls. Since they are only two weeks apart, we went with a joint party. The girls are currently obsessing over flamingos, so I picked up some cute party prep stuff. Some lawn flamingos where a must, this cute cake topper, and lots of pretty pink ballons. I’ve never been super crazy about pink, but this will be a big ol pink bonanza lol.

 

Home update: kitchen and flooring have been ordered. Now we just wait. I'm not the most patient person, and I have to admit, this was harder than expeted. I thought I knew what I wanted, but once it was time to really pick out items, there was so much to choose from. It was like being in my little DIY heaven. With all the gorgeous decor to go with, choosing a theme wasn't easy. As much as I love the Farm House style, in the end Contemporary Industrial won. Gold fixtures, navy cabinets, and cement counter tops (made by the hubby of course). We love the open concept, so we are opening up our kitchen and living room area with a fresh coat of white paint on the walls. Cant wait to see this all put together. The next few weeks will be insane, but I'm sure once its all done it will be worth it. Here are some of the homes, that inspired our kitchen re-do.

Weekend round up.

Wow where does the time go?  Its already the end of August. Hope you are all enjoying your summer. Current life situation, one to many DIY projects unfinished (dinning room floor). Two busy kiddos and a list of to-dos, a mile long. With up coming birthdays, and the dreaded back to school chaos, this momma is playing the juggling game. Thankfully Kiki is loving school and she only cried the first day. We hit Disney Springs and had a blast.

Lilly update: This girl is my little storm. She is voiceturous and commands a room. Wont let me get a foot away from her. She can cuddle for hours on my lap, coloring and teaching me my ABC's. I think I may have a future teacher on my hand.  Kiki is the complete opposite. Super laid back and independent. Most of the time I cant even hear her, because she so soft spoken. Not one for too much attention, and as long as you feed her, and let her play house, she is a happy camper. Getting pictures of these girl is like getting a pic of the yeti. Much too rare.

First day of school

So much back-to-school cuteness. With this little lady heading to first grade, and turning six this year, it all makes you think, where did the time go? This morning while prepping for school, I was feeling some kinda way, so I decided to help her get dressed. She looked at me like I had three heads. "Mom I know how to dress myself" (eye roll). It happens fast. One day they need you for everything, then they're off doing their own thing. Here's to raising independent little ones. Also, Lilly snuck in almost every pic, because well, their her favorite.

Weekend round up

Life is a bit crazy with huge house plans in the work. The house looks like a train wreck 90% of the time. We removed a old dusty rug in the dinning room, and painted the walls. Flooring will come later. Fell in love with these gray faux tiles. I mean come on all the heart emojis. I cant wait to share all the upcoming projects I have in the works. From a new dinning table  to give our dinning room a industrial look.

Then there's my crazy crew. They stay up way past their bed time. Somehow, ended up in mom and dads bed with Otis. Sunday was a slow, lazy day, with a little park run.  This month will be even crazier with our oldest turning six heading off to first grade. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.
