Weekend round up.

Weekend round up. Started the weekend with some thrifting which seems to be a Saturday tradition in the making. I scored some awesome frames, now I just need to get some family pictures. The girls where being super silly on our way out and I managed to catch them getting along. Most of the time they are fighting over a toy. So for the brief love fest moment, I took it all in.

My dear friend came to visit from up North, and we caught up. It was a much needed girl weekend. We ate way to much and laughed much to hard.

Mirror mirror

My mirror is complete.  Now, to find this piece a place. I'm thinking it will look great in our entry way, which is currently bare. I'm stuck between a bench or an entry table. I'm sure once I find the right piece it will come together.  I know this picture of before is not the best being as half of it is covered, but this mirror didn't take much work just sanding it. The piece in front is soon to be a buffet table. I'm thinking of sanding it down an painting it white, but that's coming soon.

Headboard

My latest project was turning this out dated headboard into a pottery barn dupe. I'm loving vintage charm an wanted a distressed look for our room. We came a cross the head board while thrifting an got it for practically nothing. After a trip to Home Depot, and coming through pin boards to find the right colors, we got to work.

We removed the fabric, luckily it was wood behind it. We sanded the polish off and stained it. It took three coats to get it dark enough. Then, my husband used a dry brush technique, which requires as little paint as possible. Once that dried some light sanding, and there you have it, our PB dupe.

Weekend round up.

Good morning ladies. So another crazy weekend. We had all of our nieces an nephews over for a sleepover. I asked Carlos to pick up a tent, and of course he came home with the largest one he could find. It completely took over our living room. Not that the kids minded at all. So after juice boxes, snack packs, pizza we settled in an watched a movie.

Sunday was spent lounging by the pool. An by lounging I mean, tossing an chasing after, two active little ones.

Strawberry blend

Flavor of the week. I kept it super simple this week. I purchased a large bag of mixed berries. It had blue berries, strawberries, cranberries, and cherries. This blend helps hide any veggie flavor, since kale is not my favorite, but has so many health benefits. I buy in bulk to help with meal prep, so often times I mixed frozen with fresh fruits. Mix an enjoy.

1/2 cup berries blend
1/4 kale
1/4 spinach
1/4 fresh strawberries
4 oz coconut water
4oz water

Also, I'm totally excited about my new pineapple case. It's perfect for summer bright an vibrant. in case you didn't know I love PINEAPPLES. Enjoy your weekend ladies.

July fourth

Good morning ladies, and happy Fourth of July.  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Miami was so gorgeous. It was my first time visiting an it did not disappoint. The room we stayed in was so pretty. I could've stayed snuggled up under the sheets all weekend, and been content.

We strolled the shops at Lincoln Center.  I enjoyed some Cuban coffee, and in case you didn't know, I'm obsessed with coffee.

July 4th was spent on the beach. Corona in hand , oversized hat, and lots of beach time naps. Ended the night with some steaks an passed out before we saw any fireworks.

Green

So here is my smoothie of the week. I try to constantly change an try new recipes so I don't get tired of the same old drink. I drink two a day. I love the smoothies because they help curb hunger, while staying on track. I'm not a huge fan of greens, this is a great way to get them in to your diet.

Recipe

1/2 a banana
1/2 Apple
1/4 cup mango
Handful of kale an spinach
8 oz water or coconut water

Blend and enjoy. I personally like my smoothies really thick but you can always add more water to make it lighter. I will admit, it's not the prettiest looking smoothie but it is so, so yummy!!
